Privacy Policy
Study Gossip turns your study notes into conversational audio. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how we look after it.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign in — including with Google — we receive your name, email address and profile image so we can create and secure your account.
- Study content. The notes you paste or upload, plus the transcripts and audio episodes generated from them, and any folders you organise them into.
- Usage information. Generation history and credit usage, so we can apply fair limits and show your balance.
- Technical information. Basic logs such as timestamps, browser type and error reports, used for security and troubleshooting.
How we use your information
- To generate the scripts and audio episodes you request.
- To save your library so you can listen again without re-uploading notes.
- To authenticate you, protect the service from abuse and enforce usage limits.
- To respond to support enquiries and improve reliability and quality.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your notes for advertising.
AI processing
To create an episode, the text you submit is sent to third-party AI providers for script generation and text-to-speech synthesis. We use OpenAI for script generation and ElevenLabs or Google Cloud Text-to-Speech for voices. These providers process the content only to return a result to us. Please avoid submitting sensitive personal data, confidential material or anything you are not permitted to share.
Google user data
If you sign in with Google, we access only your basic profile and email address. That data is used solely to create and authenticate your Study Gossip account. It is never sold, and it is not shared with anyone other than the infrastructure providers listed below. Our use of Google user data complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Storage, sharing and security
Your account, library and generated audio are stored with our infrastructure providers (Supabase for database, authentication and file storage, and our hosting provider for serving the app). Access is restricted by row-level security so your library is visible only to you. Data is encrypted in transit. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information.
Retention and your choices
- Episodes and folders are kept until you delete them or close your account.
- You can delete individual episodes and folders at any time from your library.
- You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us.
Children
Study Gossip is intended for students aged 16 and over. If you believe a younger child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the service evolves; material changes will be reflected in the date above. Questions or requests can be sent to preshcreates@gmail.com.
